Be Yourself

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Ephesians 2:10

To be yourself in a world that often expects you to be something that you aren’t can be truly challenging.

Last year, Complete Woman hosted their first Be Yourself Conference, coming together as women to appreciate, celebrate and empower one another to be the women that God has destined us to be.

We were able to learn what it means to take pride in who we are, what we are accomplishing individually and together and what we are yet to achieve. It gave us the chance to look good and feel proud, not for anyone but ourselves.

From hair, make-up and beauty stalls, to learning how to keep healthy, we were empowered to appreciate where we have come from, who we are now and, more than anything, begin to love who we are about to come.

1. Don’t be afraid to look in the mirror and appreciate who you are
What I have come to discover, is that we are faced with the daily battle of living up toa certain idea or perception, generally created by ourselves, or in some cases, by someone else. When it is coupled with feelings of inadequacy and lack of belief in our true self, the battles we are always trying to overcome sometimes feel like battles that cannot be won or achieved, yet did the Lord not say that we are fearfully and wonderfully made?

Ephesians 2:10 says: “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” So why do we find it so difficult sometimes to believe that we are God’s handiwork and that he created us to do great works?

“Be yourself there is no one better qualified”

Our true selves tend to come out when we let go of all of the stories, labels, and
judgments that we have placed upon ourselves. It is who we naturally are when we
look in the mirror without the masks and pretentiousness.

2. Learn to discover who you are on your own
There are seasons that you will go through in life that will cause you to question things about yourself and where you are headed. Sometimes there will be more
questions than answers and there will be those occasions where the possibility of clarity or closure seem so far-fetched an idea that inner peace will seem like an impossibility. Nonetheless, in the midst of such seasons you will always have the wonderful opportunity to be alone and truly rediscover who you are and what your purpose is in a given season. It is a time to draw closer to God and remember things about yourself that you have forgotten or neglected.

It is in the silence of your own space that you have the chance to grow into the person you have been called to be. It is in this place where you learn how to forgive yourself and heal from situations that have caused you the greatest amount of pain, when you truly reflect on what it means to be an individual pre-destined to be content in the Lord. It is also a place where you discover how to empower yourself and others, and what the freedom of that empowerment really means.

3. Don’t be afraid to reflect often
Life has a way of taking you back and allowing you to reflect and gain perspective that was once lost. It has a way of restoring lost hope, faith and love. It has a way of allowing you to reason with yourself about situations, whether they were your fault or not. It has a way of reminding you that there is no one who is better qualified to be you than yourself.

“It is in the silence of your own space that you have the opportunity to grow into the person you have been called to be.”

It is an existential truth that people who know who they are radiate a confidence that the world is able to see. They are the people who are capable of exploring the deepest essence of their capabilities without depending on the approval of other people to exist or breathe.

When you let go of the old ways of thinking, follow your inner bliss, and do what you love, you begin to align with happiness and peace – you begin to learn to craft your own sense of individuality, style and grace.

When all is said and done, do not be afraid to be yourself because once you know
who you are and whose you are, everything else will fall into place.

Complete Woman ‘Be Yourself’ conference

‘Laughter is medicine that brings healing to the heart’- Why you should be attending the ‘Be Yourself Conference 2017’

Hannah Fieldhouse

As we find ourselves entering the month of October, it’s a fresh beginning and brings a new positive outlook on the next 4 weeks! October for many people marks the start of the falling leaves, colder weather and darker nights. But this Saturday (Saturday 7th October 2017), all the doom and gloom of the winters drawing in, will be forgotten! Complete Woman would like to welcome you to join them at the ‘Be Yourself Conference 2017’ at Mayfair House, Shannon St, Leeds, LS9 8SS for what is set to be another year of joy, prayer and a celebration of all the wonderful qualities that make women so great!

What is Complete Woman

For those of you that don’t know, Complete Woman is the brainchild of Reverend Eve Maloba and a group of women belonging to Christ Temple of Worship Church. The group was set up in 2007 with the vision to empower, equip and strengthen women of all ages to rediscover their purpose of existence and effectively pursue God’s will for their lives, families and society through prayer and wisdom from the word of God. They aim to not only improve women’s lives through empowerment, but allow them to ‘willingly take a more active role in building their marriages, for mothers to be role models in raising up godly leaders of tomorrow, and single ladies to fully dedicate their lives to serve God while preparing them for marriage’.

But why should I attend?

When most people hear the word ‘conference’, they shudder with memories of horrendously monotonous, boring and soul destroying hours spent listening to a businessman drone on about what makes his business so great; the ladies at Complete Woman are here to dispel anything you thought you knew about conferences! With the theme being noted as ‘She Laughs Without Fear’, you can be sure to spend the whole day with a smile painted wide on your face as you listen to the inspiring, joyful and encouraging host, Rev Mrs Eve Maloba and her equally amazing Guest Minister Pastor Majorie Esomowei. The conference is one of the biggest events held by Complete Woman, and along with its continuous support, aims to raise women’s inner strength and passion to serve God, and aims to allow women to maintain their relationship with God through prayer and the wisdom of the Rev Mrs Eve Maloba and Pastor Majorie Esomowei.

Why should I take your word for it?

After the massive success of last year’s conference, and the vast array of positive testimonials from attendees, 100’s will be flocking back to experience the joy and laughter of this spiritually nourishing event again, or for many, for the first time!

One woman who attended the event last year said that ‘The event has changed something inside me. It has awoken a part of me that I did not know existed before the conference. Through the inspirational leadership of Pastor Eve Maloba, I have been empowered with knowledge that has blessed my life as a newlywed bride, as well as the fact I have gained so much wisdom and understanding on how to keep peace within myself and my home. I want to encourage women to be
part of this great ministry, attend the conference and they shall surely see the fruits within themselves!’

The Conference and Cancer Month

As you may know, October also marks the start of Cancer Awareness Month. The suffering of others is an issue that the women within ‘Complete Woman’ feel passionate about alleviating. As a result of their passion for helping others, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of T shirt’s at the event will go to cancer patients, as well as a collection being held for toiletries to give to those in need of help and a pick me up in their time of suffering.

Complete Woman believes that helping those in need is one of the most important things as the lord teaches us that ‘Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased’.

If you’re heading to the event on Saturday, please give as little or as much as you can, it will truly make a difference to the lives of people effected by cancer.
